HistoMark® Biotin-Streptavidin Kits

HistoMark® Biotin Streptavidin-HRP Systems provide rapid, precise localization of cell surface and intracellular antigens in frozen or paraffin-embedded tissue, cytospins and touch preparations.
These systems also facilitate double or triple labeling experiments, as detection can be performed simultaneously with primary antibodies of different animal species. Streptavidin demonstrates less
non-specific binding than avidin.

Product Features and Benefits

  • Streptavidin demonstrates less nonspecific binding than avidin in detection systems.
  • Biotin is a relatively small molecule that does not interfere with the biological properties of proteins.
  • Biotinylated anti-mouse and anti-rabbit antibodies are human serum adsorbed to minimize
    non-specific reactivity; the anti-rat antibody is mouse serum adsorbed.
  • Streptavidin/biotin systems offer high sensitivity and low background, allowing high dilutions of primary antibody.
  • Serum block minimizes nonspecific binding of the secondary antibody.
