Diaminobenzidine (DAB) is the most commonly used substrate for the histochemical detection of peroxidase. It reacts with HRP to produce an insoluble brown precipitate and can be used in staining tissues and on membranes. The main disadvantage of DAB is that it must be used immediately to avoid reaction with the enzyme.
KPL's StableDAB® overcomes this disadvantage and can remain ready-to-use for 2 weeks after preparation.
StableDAB® remains active and does not precipitate over a 2 week period at use dilution; at ambient temperature it remains stable for
1 week. At 2-8oC it remains stable for 2 weeks.
Product Features and Benefits
- Liquid reagents minimize handling of DAB, a suspected carcinogen, in powder form.
- More cost-effective and convenient to use that regular DAB.
- Reduces waste and minimizes exposure to hazardous substances.
