Unrivaled precision with artificial intelligence

The power of artificial intelligence of the Scan Ai automatic counter boosts the analysis of Petri dishes. Scan Ai standardizes colony counting and improves the accuracy of your analysis results. The scientific expertise of the technical teams remains within the lab.

  • 25% more accurate than a conventional counter
  • Detection and counting with models trained with AI
  • Discrimination of artifacts (bubbles, markings, etc.)
  • Reading on 100% of the plate
  • Classification and counting of bacteria, yeasts and molds

Excellent performances of pre-trained models

The AI of the Scan Ai automatic counter has been trained on more than 1 million annotated images from different sectors of activity.

Integrated counting models for common culture media:

  • Total count (PCA/TSA)
  • Coliforms
  • Enterobacteriaceae (VRBL/VRBG)
  • Escherichia Coli (TBX)
  • Lactobacilli (MRS)
  • Mossel
  • SDA
  • Symphony
  • Yeasts/molds
  • GVPC
  • Compass Bacillus Cereus
  • Rhapsody
  • PDA
  • Blood Agar
  • Milliflex Oasis™ (TSA, SDA, R2A)
  • Staphylococci (Baird-Parker, Baird-Parker RPF)

Rapid reading of antibiograms

For precise clinical results and decision-making for the diagnosis and treatment of patients, the automated reading of antibiograms remains the most relevant solution.

  • Up to 16 antibiotics in 2-4 seconds

  • Measurement accuracy: ± 0.1 mm

  • Integrated databases: CA-SFM, Eucast, CLSI

Data integrity

Scan Ai receives and sends information from LIMS and/or dataLink and digitizes the counting. All the data from the analysis are traceable and auditable. The results are validated by a double electronic signature. Thanks to account management, you have multi-level access for the validation of results. This solution thus ensures the reliability and security of data in accordance with FDA guidelines, 21 CFR Part 11 and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) Annex 11.

Traceability and printing of results

Scan 3000 Ai connects to the LIMS in bi-directionality and can be connected to the diluter and plater via dataLink, a traceability system. It offers multiple export possibilities to save time on manual entry and thus increase the security and quality of your analyses.

Export your results to your PC or archive them in CSV, Excel™, OpenOffice™, PDF, SCA, BIO format. You can also export images from the camera in JPEG, PNG and BMP format.

White LED Dome lighting: reflection and shadow free

Petri dishes are difficult to light, because they are transparent and reflective. Heterogeneous lighting often creates artifacts on the meniscus of the agar and on the edge of the plate. These artifacts are counted as colonies or prevent perfect counting.

Interscience have designed a white diffusing dome that provides 360° lighting for the plate, without any reflection or shadow. The light is diffused from all points, and provides lighting without artifacts for counting even on the edge of the plate.
